Vidya Feels That Australians Love ‘song-and-dance’ Formula In Indian Films

The brand ambassador of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Vidya Balan feels that audience love the song-and-dance formula of Indian movies.

“They love the song and dance that we have in our films as that is not there in their films. Also, human stories touch them… it appeals to them. It feels great that they like our films,” she said.

Vidya has been appointed as a brand ambassador for the third time in a row. She feels that film festival is a demonstration of the growing cultural links between the two countries.

“I have a long-standing equation with Melbourne and I hope that this association continues forever. It (the fest) is a platform for young filmmakers to showcase films not only from India but from our neighbouring countries as well,” she added.

Vidya’s upcoming film is Shaadi Ke Side Effects with Farhan Akhtar. She expressed her excitement about the film.

“It’s wonderful working with Farhan, he is very talented. He is a writer, director, actor, singer… I’ve learnt a lot from him,” said Vidya.
