US judge turns down Apple bid to stop Galaxy sales

Apple lost a petition for a court ruling in its bid to block sales of Samsung Electronics Co.’s 4G smart phone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet pc, as per a verdict that was issued on a courtroom and then removed. The iPad producer, in its case registered in federal court in San Jose, California, sought an order blocking Samsung from selling its Galaxy line of cellular devices items in the U.S. according to statements they breach Apple patents.

The claim is part of a lawful fight between the firms being battled in 10 countries. The 2 firms have registered around 30 legal cases against each other, as per Samsung. The clash started in April, when Apple registered the San Jose case saying the Suwon, South Korean firm’s Galaxy devices copied the iPhone and iPad. As per the courtroom, the verdict, which was submitted temporarily in mistake late last night, was later registered under seal.

The lawsuits are made more difficult by the companies’ association: Samsung is the 2nd biggest part provider for Apple and receives about 7.6 % of its total income from selling storage chips, displays and other parts for the iPhone and iPad, as per Bloomberg data.
