US Consul General in Lahore Carmella Conroy met Punjab chief minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here on Sunday.
Matters related to flood destruction in Punjab, relief actions as well as US assistance for calamity-stricken people came under discussion.
Talking to the American Consul General, the chief minister explained that the worst-ever flood in the history of state has caused unprecedented damage in the province.
He said that Punjab govt was utilizing all accessible resources for the relief and rehab of the affectees and a comprehensive strategy has been evolved for the supply of food and medicines to the calamity-stricken persons.
He said that he had also set up a camp office in Southern Punjab and is individually checking the relief operation.
He mentioned gratitude for the American assistance for the affectees.
The American Consul General while giving details of relief assistance for the calamity-stricken people in Pakistan confident that the US would continue its help for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees.
