The upcoming weekend will be two-flavored Friday for movie buffs. The first one is the most awaited romantic love story Shuddh Desi Romance, and the other one is a high-on-action drama Zanjeer. Both the films are seems to fare well according to industry.
Zanjeer is the remake of 1973’s eponymous film. The film has been directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is featuring the southern star Ram Charan Teja. The actor steps into a role original essayed by Amitabh Bachchan. Ram Charan shares screen space with exotic star Priyanka Chopra and a newcomer Vaani Kapoor.
During a period when the film industry is flourishing, thanks to the movies like Chennai Express, Satyagraha and Madras Cafe, the newest releases are likely to keep a reliable stay in theatres. Films are made at an approximate budget of about 30 crore to 40 crore each. So the films are expected to hit an equal number of big screens.
Amul Mohan, the trade analyst, says the films might release in 1,600 to 1,700 screens. “Satyagraha and Madras Cafe are still running in theatres. I believe Zanjeer and Shuddh Desi Romance will have a good second week play as well,” he said.
He admitted that both the movies are of different genre but they will do well with their own audience. “Shuddh Desi Romance is going to be more for metro cities. Zanjeer, being an action film, will target smaller centers which like action films. This will be the divide in the audience,” said Mohan.
