4. Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani
Youth’s superstar, Ranbir Kapoor is the only actor in the Top-5 list other than Khans (SRK, Amir & Salman). YJHD was a romantic-comedy film which was directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Karan Johar. Trade pundits had not expected that this movie will do such a wonderful business and gross ₹301 crore worldwide. Apart from the movie, its album also got very popular among hindi songs listeners. Tracks such as, Badtameez Dil, Balam Pichkari, Kabira, and Dilli Wali Girlfriend made the people go crazy on the beats of the songs.
3. Ek The Tiger
Yet again Salman Khan is in this list, starring along with his co-star Katrina Kaif. ETT was the biggest super hit film of the last year. The film was released on the auspicious day of Eid and collected ₹32.93 crore on its first day itself. ETT also performed well in overseas markets despite not being released in Pakistan. After roaring for more than a month, the film finally came to stop and grossed around ₹310 crore worldwide.
2. 3 Idiots (2009)
Almost all of us have watched this movie. Beautifully directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film was based on 3 engineering students, Amir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R.Madhavan. Kareena Kapoor was also in the read role. The film was released on just 1149 screen in India and 415 screens in overseas, but it still managed to earn whopping ₹392 crore. 3 Idiots also received highly positives reviews upon its release. The movie won 40 awards; among these are 6 Filmfare Awards including best film and best director, 16 IIFA awards and 10 Star Screen Awards.
With 3 Idiots, our Mr. Perfectionist was the first Bollywood actor who entered in the club of Rs 200 crore.

At number one position is featuring the King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan. It is the highest grosser of all time as of now. The movie did this tremendous business only because of the SRK’s stardom and his huge fan following in India and overseas as well. The film got mixed critics reviews from India as well as from abroad. The music of the Chennai Express was not very good but the action and comedy filled this gap and became a family entertainer. The movie made the worldwide collection of more than ₹400 crore.
As only two big films have to release this year, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3, industry experts are expecting that these movies may break the record settled by Chennai Express and the list of Top 5 highest grossing Bollywood films.
