Team India remain in No-1 spot in ICC ODI ranking

DhoniTeam India’s unbeaten run in the initial stage of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 has helped improve their position as the number 1 ranked team on the ICC ODI Championship Table. India had entered the competition on 119 ratings points and has moved to 121 due to their wins over South Africa, West Indies and Pakistan, ICC said in a press release on yesterday (June 18).

England is now ranked 2nd after moving up 2 places from 4th, thereby pushing Australia to 3rd place. 2nd ranked England and 3rd placed Australia are level on 113 ratings points, but Alastair Cook’s team is ranked above Michael Clarke’s team by a fraction of a point. South Africa has slipped a place to 4th with a loss of 1 ratings points in 112 after the completion of the group stage.

Sri Lanka at 5th and Pakistan at 6th have retained their pre-tournament positions. There’s a close fight between New Zealand and West Indies for 7th place on the table. Presently, New Zealand and West Indies are level on 88 ranking points, but Brendon McCullum’s aspect is ranked above Dwayne Bravo’s side by a fraction of a point.
