The Bangladesh Cricket Board are to carry out an investigation after the vehicle carrying cricket officials following yesterday`s defeat by Pakistan was claimed to have been stoned.
Bangladesh fans in Chittagong for the 3rd ODI match were furious along with South Africa umpire Johan Cloete after he decided Bangladesh player Farhad Reza was out LBW off the bowling of Saeed Ajmal.
Fans booed when the replay of the episode was displayed on the big screen at the stadium as it seemed Reza had managed to get his bat to the ball first. After Reza`s wicket, Bangladesh then lost their last 3 players for 2 runs to be bowled out for 119 and a 58 run defeat to lose the sequence 3-0.
“An incident occurred and the screen of the vehicle carrying the ICC match officials shattered,” Mesbahuddin Serniabat, the security chief of the BCB informed journalists on Today.
“But we’re not totally sure if it is because of stoning. It may be just an incident. We’re checking out the issue.” he says, adding that no one was injured in the accident.
