Sri Lanka set to host Pakistan, Australia series

Sri Lanka will host Pakistan’s home series against Australia just before the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup in Sept. The matches are likely to take place in August.

Pakistan were planned to host Australia in a 5 game ODI and a T20 game in Pakistan but because of security issues the matches will now be played at a neutral place, Sri Lanka.

As per cricket authorities both nations decided to a request made by Sri Lanka to host them thereby developing a financial way Sri Lanka. International cricket sides have rejected to tour trouble-hit Pakistan after gunmen assaulted the bus carrying the Sri Lanka squad on its way to a Test match in Lahore in March 2009.

Since then Pakistan has been playing its home games in the UAE and Sri Lanka has now cashed in by hosting their games.
