A South Korean govt agency said that working at a Samsung Electronics factory caused the breast cancer of a employee who passed away a few months ago, only the 2nd time it has identified a connection between cancer and Samsung’s chip plants.
South Korean govt agency, ruled recently that there was a “considerable causal relationship” between the female’s cancer and her 5 years of work at a semiconductor plant close to Seoul. The judgment did not become public until Friday when the agency announced settlement for the woman’s family members.
Samsung spokesperson James Chung said it will not appeal the government’s verdict. The firm is the globe’s biggest maker of computer memory chips.
