A source tells, “SRK had departed on a family trip to Holland and London. On his way back he was carrying with him about 20 baggage. Thus, the Customs authorities at air-port interrogated him, while his family members was permitted to go. The interrogation was conducted by a staff of Deputy Collector, Customs, Sameer Wankhede.
Shahrukh Khan had to give a duty of around Rs 1.5 lakh.” An eyewitness claims, “The Customs handled SRK no specially than other travellers. They did not provide him any special attention. He was not even permitted to make a telephone call.”
Customs Commissioner, P M Govande verifies, “Yes, he was interrogated but it was a schedule matter. Whenever folks bring stuff they’ve to give duty on it. It’s almost Rs 1.5 lakh and the interrogation took time simply because he was carrying plenty of goods.”
