Shahid Afridi has criticized ex- Pakistan skipper Salman Butt for criticizing him following a below par outing at the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, and advised media houses to stay away from hiring tainted cricketers like Salman Butt.
Shahid Afridi will be leading a Pakistan All Stars team at the 1st T20 against an International World XI team, which is the 1st international match since the Sri Lanka squad was assaulted in 2009.
“The cricketer who’s stained the name of the country in the world and has ruined an excellent talent like Mohammad Amir should be embarrassed of even coming in front of the country,” Afridi said. “Media houses should hire people with a clean record so that such “experts” will not have any weight when they speak,” he added.
Salman Butt had criticized Afridi for his below par performance during the World Twenty20, but Afridi defended his slump, branding it as a poor patch that all cricketers go through.
