Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said there was a require to show the same spirit of sacrifice for the national progress and prosperity as had been displayed for the relief and rescue operation of the flood victims.
Addressing a provincial parliamentary party meeting of the PML-N, Shahbaz said the nation was facing the challenge of rehabilitation of the flood victims to enable them to stand on their own feet. He said every person in society would have to come forward and lend a helping hand to the calamity-stricken people. He said the process of supply of relief assistance among the flood-hit people through Watan Cards would be finished during the present month while supply of free seeds and fertilisers to the cultivators would be began from October 15.
Senior Adviser Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood of PML-Functional, Noor Haider Niazi of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Dr Tahir Ali Javed of the Unification Group were also present on the occasion.
