Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed previous army dictator General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s statement of setting foot in politics, saying that he must come into politics but he should also come to Pakistan, so that the masses, annoyed at his policies, may extend him his due reception in a worthwhile way.
Shahbaz Sharif was talking to Nawa-i-Waqt on Friday. Shahbaz said that the dictator who now vowed to shift country from darkness to light, did not generate even a unit of electricity in his leadership of 9 years.
He said that Musharraf must go back to the country so that he might see what he had left for the people of the state. Inflation, loadshedding, lawlessness, terrorism and dearth, all are his gifts to the nation and now he was apologising for the NRO only, rather than for his other mistakes, Shahbaz said.
“He forgot how he attempted to subdue the most highly regarded institutions of the country like judiciary with a Martial Law like action. The dictator now pledges to bring an end to family politics and nepotism, but the person with whom he is developing political contacts, are in politics for the posterity,” said the Punjab CM.
