Rubbishing ex- Indian coach Greg Chappell’s comments about Sachin Tendulkar, Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has says that Sachin had piled a heap of runs while dealing with the fiercest pace attack from West Indies, Pakistan and Aussie.
“Had it been the case along with Tendulkar, could he play cricket for such a period of time? He started his profession while facing best pacers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis in Pakistan. West Indies bowling attack was still violent when he started out piled runs”, Sehwag says while addressing a media conference in Jhajjar on yesterday.
Chappell had said in his book that Tendulkar had been in psychologically fragile state at times. This came in the aftermath of Shoaib Akhtar say that Tendulkar was afraid of facing him. Saying that this kind of claims are ridiculous without any substance, Sehwag says that these comments are being made for clear reasons (of seeking advertising).
