Hindi industry’s eternally inimitable actress Rekha, who has impressed viewers with her acting in movies such as Silsila, Mr. Natwarlal, as well as Umrao Jaan, reveals she never wished to turn into an actress.
However when the actress looks back, she is happy she took this profession.
Rekha said here at an event; “Coming to this industry wasn’t my choice but I am glad it happened. I think it was well worth it.”
“It was during Khoon Bhari Maang that I realised that I can only become an actor and nothing else,” added the actress.
She was attending director Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International Institute to participate in its ‘Celebrate Cinema’ pageant when the actress shared her thoughts on her life and career.
The National Award winner started her career as a child performer in 1966.
Besides Khoon Bhari Maang and Silsila, Rekha earned much popularity for her roles in Umrao Jaan and Khoobsurat.
“I kept getting roles, almost every kind of roles, thereafter, I continued to take it as a blessing,” said the actress.
“Whatever was given to me, I respected it, I valued it and I relished it and with me, the entire world relished it,” the 59-year-old added.
On the other hand, Rekha will make her appearance on big screen in Abhishek Kapoor’s film Fitoor.
