Pakistani cricketers again sidelined for IPL season 6

Even as the Pakistani squad embarks on their limited overs trip to India, sources have disclosed that cricketers from their country wouldn’t participate in the 6th season of the Indian Premier League, slated to take place in April and May next year.

The IPL governing council issued a list of 37 cricketers to be auctioned on the Third of February. The same list was circulated amongst all the franchises and didn’t include the name of any Pakistani player. The franchises were under the impression that cricketers from Pakistan would be a part of the auction given the national team is presently visiting India. A couple of IPL franchises were really keen on several of the Pakistani cricketers who had impressed in the World T20 in Sri Lanka.

“There is no issue buying Pakistan players in the auction, but somehow there’s no move from anywhere to add them to the auction,” quoted a franchise owner. The location for the auction is not yet been decided.
