Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram is excited about the upcoming limited-over series between India and Pakistan and feels that Pakistan can beat India, if their batsmen perform up to the mark.
Green Shirts are going to visit India next month for a short series, which includes a couple of Twenty20 Internationals and 3 ODIs. The 2 countries are going to play a bilateral series after nearly 5 years as their sporting ties were halted after the Mumbai attacks in 2008.
Wasim Akram is keen to witness the arch-rivals taking on each other and expects that the tour goes ahead well without any safety issues. The legendary fast bowler wants both the countries to play against each other regularly in the future and believes that the upcoming series is going to be a stepping stone towards the right path.
“I can’t wait for this tour to happen,” Wasim said. “I am positive that the Indian govt will make this tour a cheerful and secure one of our squad because the entire world is waiting for this and want it to be series reviving one.”
