Kohli apologises to Indian board for violating rule: Reports

India’s batsman Virat Kohli apologizes to BCCI after violating the rules and speaking to a newspaper after India’s seven-wicket win over England in the 3rd ODI at Ranchi on January 19.

BCCI had delivered a notice to Kohli regarding the violation, as he had given a long interview to ‘The Telegraph’, as players are told not to talk with the media during a series except at a media conference.

As per a report on mid-day, Kohli has apologized to the Indian board for giving an extensive interview during a series, which is strictly not suitable. Virat Kohli while apologizing to BCCI, has also mentioned that he wasn’t aware of the rules, as he gave an extensive interview to a scribe during the ODI series. He’s also stressed that it would not be done again in the future.

It’s also learnt that a BCCI official had questioned the support team for allowing Virat Kohli to interact with the press while the support staff has ensured that players would be briefed about the rules during an international series.
