Kevin Pietersen has been dropped from English’s team for the 3rd Test against South Africa after Pietersen was caught up in a text message row. England’s selectors made their decision to axe Kevin Pietersen following reports he sent text messages to a few South Africa cricketers during the 2nd Test at Headingley that were believed to contain derogatory remarks about England skipper Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.
Jonny Bairstow has been selected in position of Pietersen, whose involvement in the last Test at Lord’s, which England must win to draw the series and maintain their position on top of the world rankings, had been in doubt throughout a dramatic week. Pietersen suggested after the 2nd Test that he might walk away from the sport after the present series because he had grown disillusioned with what he perceived as difficulties in the England team.
But on Saturday evening he seemed to have a change of heart when he posted a video on YouTube in which he agreed to make himself available once again for his adopted country in all formats after just lately deciding out of ODI action.
