Jacques Kallis names Wasim Akram as best pace bowler ever faced

South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has disclosed that Wasim Akram was the best fast bowler he’d ever faced during his long and successful career.

The all-rounder said in an interview that Wasim Akram was the best opening fast bowler he’d ever faced as his capability to swing the ball in both ways with pace made him a deadly force to consider with on the field.

Selecting Wasim Akram from an option of fast bowling icons like a Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Waqar Younis , Kallis mentioned that Wasim Akram`s pace attack along with Waqar Younis` reverse swinging made them a strong force against any team, adding that the lethal pair was the best combination that Pakistan had ever had.

Jacques Kallis 13,128 runs at Test level in 162 matches which also includes 44 hundreds and his 288 wickets along with his remarkable ODI record of 11,498 runs and 270 wickets makes him unarguably a unique person in the world of cricket, the report added.
