IPL fixing: Indian Bookie bribes Rs 100 mln to Sri Lankan player

Indian Bookie Sonu Yogendra Jalan alias Malad has made a surprising revelation that he given Rs 100 million (Rs 10 Crs) to a Sri Lankan cricketer for fixing a match, as per report published in an Indian newspaper.

Bookie Devendra Kothari was arrested on Thursday by the crime branch for their supposed participation in gambling racket involving the ongoing IPL matches. He revealed to the crime branch that he had given Rs 10 Crs to a Sri Lankan player for fixing a match. He along with Kothari is thought to be a part of a much larger gambling racket.

“The group is well-organized with having all the gambling assessment software with them which helps them in controlling their betting business,” a police officer was quoted as saying by the Times of India
