Indian skipper MS Dhoni is venturing into the business of physical fitness through a company co-founded along with his manager Arun Pandey, that plans to invest approximately Rs. 2,000 Crs in the next 5 yrs. The new firm, SportsFit World Pvt Ltd intends to open around 200 gyms under the SportsFit brand not just in India but also abroad.
“The first 4 fitness centers will be unveiled in May. The plan is to set up a massive chain of such fitness centres across India and worldwide areas where Dhoni has massive fan following,” Arun Pandey said. The firm is presently exploring geographies like Australia, Middle East, Singapore and the Britain.
Rhiti Sports presently handles Dhoni’s brand endorsement deals. On the intended investment for the project, Pandey said it is up to Rs. 2,000 crs and already a few abroad investors have already picked minority stake in SportsFit World. The majority equity is held by Pandey and MS Dhoni jointly.
MS Dhoni is presently the face of around 25 brands and charges around Rs. 5 Crs per endorsement, as per industry reports.
