Hashim Amla fastest batsman to score 3,000 ODI runs

Hashim Amla’s 150 against England was a record-breaking innings for 2 reasons- the 1st one being that the win made South Africa the No.1 side in all 3 formats of the game, and the 2nd being that Hashim Amla became the quickest batsman to reach 3000 ODI runs.

In the process, he also became the fastest cricketer in the history of the game to make 10 ODI centuries. What makes the South African’s record even more special is that he got to 3000 runs 12 innings faster than the next fastest- the famous Sir Vivian Richards. It didn’t issue what line and length the English bowlers pursued; Amla was still able to find gaps in the field to hit his boundaries. There were 16 fours in his 150 that came off only 124 balls and the majority of of those boundaries were hit in the 2nd half of his innings when England had plenty of boundary riders.
