Samsung will launch its Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona in a few days.
The company is giving the slate as a direct rival to Apple’s iPad Mini; however with a cost exceeding the Mini Samsung could have a tough job convincing folks to opt for their product over the iPad.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 8.0 in Europe 1st for a whopping €350 ($468), far more than the iPad Mini which is around for $329. Samsung’s device will be more costly than the iPad Mini and on paper the Note 8.0 doesn’t exactly warrant that extra cost.
With a 1280×800 LCD Display, Quad-Core CPU, 5 MP back camera, 1.3 MP front camera and 2 GB RAM, the Note 8.0 is a decent device, and of course the S-Pen stylus is proving popular with buyers. However, we doubt that’s enough to prise folks away from the iPad Mini.
