Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has reportedly authorized Academy Award-winning Bosnian director Danis Tanovic’s next movie under the collaborative banner of various production houses. Tanovic is best recognized for having directed and written “No Man’s Land”, which won him the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Movie in 2001- the same year Ashutosh Gowariker’s “Lagaan” was chosen in that category.
The writer-director was apparently thinking about signing Emraan Hashmi, 33, after viewing a few of his movies, for his next movie backed by ASAP movie (France), Dar motion Pictures, Sikhya Entertainment and Anurag Kashyap Film Pvt Ltd. “Emraan is an extremely good actor and we’re excited to work together. It’ll be quite interesting to see the combination of an Indian actor who’s very popular among the public working with an Oscar winning director in an international movie. We’re looking towards an excellent collaboration,” said producer Guneet Monga of Anurag Kashyap Film Pvt Ltd.
Emraan Hashmi, whose most recent movies include “Jannat 2”, “Shanghai”, “Raaz 3”, is recognized for his unusual choice of movies.
