Electoral alliance with MQM not possible says Ahsan Iqbal

PML-N deputy secretary general, Ahsan Iqbal has stated that PPP, PML-Q and MQM had gained support of disallowed outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba in past elections.

Addressing a media conference here yesterday, Ahsan Iqbal said, in 2002 PML-Q and MQM formed govt with Sipah-e-Sahaba and got released Maulana Azam Tariq from prison to cast vote in support of Zafarullah Jamali as prime minister. He explained electoral coalition along with MQM isn’t feasible.

PML-N leader more mentioned that in 1996, PPP formed govt with Sipah-e-Sahaba in Punjab and also provided ministry to its nominee. Mian Nawaz Sharif was attacked over effective operation against sectarian outfits in 1997, he added.
