Boom Boom Afridi may be retained for ODIs if he does well in T20s

Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s Test and ODI captain, has indicated that dropping Shahid Afridi from the 50-over cricket for the next tour of India wasn’t an easy decision but indicated that Afridi may still play the ODIs in India, if he does well in the T20s.

The Green Shirts are slated to go to India later this month to play a limited-over series, which includes 2 T20 Internationals and 3 ODIs. After a bad run of performances in 2012, Afridi has been dropped from the 50-over cricket; however, the ex- Pakistan skipper will be a part of the T20 squad. While speaking with a private Tv channel on Thursday evening, Misbah-ul-Haq expressed that the series against India is going to be a test of nerves as both the teams are under severe pressure to deliver the goods.

A very good news for Afridi’s followers is that the all-rounder still has an opportunity to play the ODI series as well if performing well in the 2 T20s leading to the 50-over cricket.
