Bollywood actor Boman Irani, who was working with Farooq Sheikh in the movie Youngistan, was due for shoot in Indore with the late actor on Saturday (December 28). On hearing the news of the Sheikh’s sudden death Boman became shocked, numbed and saddened.
Sheikh was in Dubai for a family vacation when a cardiac attack left him dead on Friday night (December 27).
“Shot with him last month. Had the warmest conversation and were to meet here in Indore today. Was to join us from Dubai. Alvida Farooque saab,” Boman tweeted with sadness.
He added; “Shocked, numbed and saddened. Was supposed to be shooting with him today. A gentleman actor is no more.”
The forthcoming film Youngistan, for which Boman and Farooq were shooting together, also features actor Jackky Bhagnani in the lead role. It was hard for Bhagnani also to come to terms with the tragic news of the death of Farooq Sheikh, a father-figure to him.
Jackky Bhagnani expressed gloom on the death of Farooq Sheikh. He took to twitter and wrote; “I am in shock to hear about Farooque sir’s death…I am still in denial. Please tell me this is not true.”
“Thank you for being like a father to me and teaching me so much through this film. Your teachings will always stay with me,” he added in his tweets.
Youngistan is being directed by debutant Syed Afzal Ahmad. The film also features Kayoze Irani and Neha Sharma.
