Australians plan to attack Saeed Ajmal in final ODI

Australian all-rounder David Hussey said on Sunday that Australia are gearing up to launch an all-out attack against Saeed Ajmal in their 3rd and last ODI. Hussy said the Aussies are examining the video footages of the Pakistan off-spinner, as to how the Sri Lankans handled him in their five-match ODI series in June this year.

David Hussey said, “I know all the boys are watching plenty of video on how to read him and how to play him differently. Kumar Sangakkara plays him a completely different way to the way the Aussies play him … we’re looking at that aspect of playing Saeed Ajmal.”

Saeed Ajmal had a forgettable trip of Sri Lanka, managing only 3 wickets in several matches at an average of 40.66. But the right-arm spinner has stressed the Australians in the UAE, taking 7 wickets in the 1st 2 matches. He’s a superb bowler. But we’ve to change our strategy. We are defending him a little bit and to our [peril]. Maybe the finest form of defense is attacking him.

David Hussey has been dismissed in both the ODIs by Saeed Ajmal – being caught at slip for 3 in the 1st match at Sharjah and lbw for a duck in the 2nd at Abu Dhabi.
