Asif likely to be released in first week of May

The lawyer of Pakistan’s cricketer Mohammad Asif, who was found guilty in spot-fixing scandal in London last year, on Friday mentioned that Asif would be freed in the very first week of May.

Speaking to press, Asif’s legal representative Ravi Sukul mentioned that although an exact date wasn’t declared but he would be released in the first week of the May.

“We would challenge any judgment regarding Asif’s deportation from Britain in the courts,” he said adding that applications were also submitted in International Arbitrary Court and courts in Britain to prove the cricketer’s innocence.

It’s to be pointed out that Pakistan 3 players Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt were indicted in spot-fixing claims by a Crown court in Britain and were sent to prison.
