Apple Replacing Some Apple TV units Over Wi-Fi Issues: Report

AppleApple TV owners having trouble relating to their network may be eligible for an alternative device. In an internal Cupertino memo obtained by 9to5 Mac, Apple stated that many third-gen units are having Wi-Fi problems, and will be changed.

The screenshot given by 9to5Mac also says that Apple will change infected Apple TV devices for up to 2 yrs from the original purchase date, totally free. As per the document, affected models will have a serial number ending in DRHN, and the 3rd and 4th characters of the serial number must contain one of these simple pairs: H9, HC, HD, HF, HG, HH, HJ, HK, HL, HM, HN, HP, HQ, HR, HT, HV, HW, HX, J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9.

Apple hasn’t yet replied to Macworld’s request for an opinion.
