Afridi and Umar Akmal may face action for flaying selection decisions

AfridiJust-recalled Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal along with Shoaib Malik, who was dropped from the national team for the West Indies tour, could be reprimanded by PCB for criticizing the selection decisions in the press.

Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik criticized PCB on selection decisions and a board source said that the statements of all 3 cricketers was being analyzed to see if they’d violated the conditions in the players` code of conduct.

Shoaib Malik, who was axed from the West Indian tour after expressing indifferent form in the Champions Trophy, told journalists that he didn`t deserve to be dropped from the national team. Afridi, who’s made a comeback to the national aspect after being dropped for the Champions Trophy, said it was ironical that after playing 17 years in Pakistan he was not sure whether he’d be playing the next game.

Umar Akmal, also recalled to the national team, asked the wisdom behind dropping him for the CT. Akmal also revealed that at one stage he considered retiring from cricket after being dropped, but a few former cricketers talked him out of it.
