The BBC has said that 400,000 pounds were found by London police in raids at the office of MQM and Altaf Hussain’s residence on December 06, 2012 and June 18, 2013. The claims have been made in a program shown on BBC 2.
Meanwhile, MQM’s deputy convener Dr. Farooq Sattar speaking with BBC 2 accepted that the London police had seized some amount of money during the raids, however, he added that he wasn’t aware about the actual figure.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said that MQM wasn’t involved in money laundering. He claimed that the BBC’s documentary on Altaf Hussain was influenced by pro-Taliban elements. He more stated that no violent statements were issued from London to trigger violence in Pakistan.
