Law enforcement officials in Beijing revealed on Monday that 2 cyber-hackers who published private information on the net have been trapped. The incident was initial uncovered by China’s top anti-virus software provider, Beijing based Qihoo 360.
The firm says that over six million users’ personal data contained on the China Software Developer Network (CSDN) was published by hackers on December 21 a year ago. The leak included user IDs, security passwords and e-mail addresses. The hacking case increased after the personal information of clients to a number of web sites, including well-known online gaming and social media sites, were leaked.
The Beijing Authorities says they couldn’t yet launch information about the case as other suspects still remained at large. Moreover, the authorities says the data leaked wasn’t relevant to the policy that a number of web sites now follow regarding the on-line registration of actual information.
