South Korea’s tech giant Samsung Electronics says today that its mobile sales topped 300 million models this yr for the first occasion in its history.
The world’s 2nd biggest producer of cell phones shipped over 300 million mobiles for the first 11 months of this yr, marking the first yearly sales of over 300 million models since it started its mobile business in 1988, as per an e-mailed report by Samsung.
“We are extremely happy with this record-breaking sales landmark and have exceeded the yearly target declared early this yr, which is proof of the enduring appeal of Samsung cell phones with customers around the globe,” says Shin Jong-kyun, president and head of Samsung’s mobile communications business.
Samsung attributed the solid sales results to the achievement of Samsung’s main Galaxy S series, which continued to get popularity among customers and propelled the Galaxy brand to become the most well-known mobile brands across the world.
