Samsung has dropped it’s patent infringement case against Apple which had alleged that the latter had taken lots of its concepts from Samsung while infringing on the Korean company’s patents. The case was dropped on Thursday, as per Bloomberg, and firm spokesperson says the steps was taken in order to “streamline” the cases.
As we had told you, Apple had initially charged Samsung saying that the Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets “slavishly” duplicates the Apple I phone and ipad tablet. Samsung countersued and both companies recommended to see each others models. While Apple was permitted to look at the currently introduced Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1, the court rejected the Korean producers demand to see the Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 3, both works in development. Samsung desires to make certain that Apple isn’t infringing on any of its patents in the making of the 2 gadgets.
As we reported, just a few days back Samsung registered a claim against Apple with the U.S. ITC after the latter submitted a case alongside Samsung in Korean court. And while Apple remains one of Samsung’s largest clients, industry sources point out that Apple is losing the Korean company as a maker for its A6 chip and exchanging the firm with TSMC.
Samsung dropping the case does not indicate success for Apple. Samsung tells it will carry on to struggle for its patent legal rights through a counterclaim made alongside Apple in an previously case registered in San Jose.
