Samsung asks Aussie and Japanese courts to block iPhone 4S

Samsung Electronics is requesting Japanese and Aussie courts to block product sales of Apple’s latest iPhone 4S in those countries.

The preliminary injunctions Samsung submitted Monday in Tokyo District Court and the Federal Court in Australia are part of an intensifying patent fight between the mobile phone giants.Samsung says Apple Inc. carries on to breach its patent rights and “free ride on our engineering.”

Samsung is also appealing an Aussie court’s judgement a week ago to temporarily ban product sales of Samsung’s latest Galaxy tablet pc. Apple charged Samsung of copying the iPad and iPhone and breaking Apple’s patents.

Samsung claims it’s also requesting a Japanese court to instantly bar product sales of the apple iphone 4 and iPad 2.
