The Apple iPad Mini 2 could be prepared for an October release, alongside the full-size iPad 5 if speculation from a source near to the company proves correct.
As per the unknown source, described as reliable by iLounge, the iPad Mini 2 is being designed under the Codename J85, with Apple planning to launch the gadget to market in October alongside a more impressive 9.7in iPad 5 design.
As earlier whispers has suggested, Apple will be using the iPad Mini 2 to handle one of the greatest issues regarding the design of the original iPad Mini: the use of a clearly non-retina, low-resolution display. Rather than the 1,024×768 display of the first iPad Mini, shared with the larger iPad 2 design, the iPad Mini 2 is said to add a retina-class display more in keeping with Apple’s latest tablet and Smartphone output.
The specific resolution of the display hasn’t yet been identified, but the gadget is thought to be utilizing Sharp’s IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology to cut back the thickness while increasing the pixel density over the current-generation design.
