Apple fans should hold off on purchasing the hotly anticipated latest iPad unit for the initial month after its launch, as per a senior executive at a regional electronics retailer.
Ashish Panjabi, COO of UAE based Jacky’s Electronics, says that the cost of the iPad will increase quickly after it arrives on UAE shores.
The worldwide launch date of the new iPad, which features an improved high resolution screen and super fast processor, is 16th March. However, Panjabi claims it will not reach the UAE until the end of March.
“It should be [available] around the end of the 3rd week of March, start of the next, but I would suggest people to wait a month before they purchase it,” he said to Arabian Business.
“It will be quite costly initially, because it’s not coming through distribution a direct distribution channel, it comes through 3rd parties, who add a mark up. At first it is just wherever we can get it. It is the same for all dealers.
The iPad has proved very famous around the world since the release of its initial iteration in 2010, with a lot of models shipped globally.
