Most recently, a new rumor says 12.9-inch iPad is unlikely to see the light of the day in 2014. It’s not just the extra-large iPad, but there will be no 3-Gen iPad Mini either. The only iPad that will get a refresh is iPad Air, which will appear with Touch ID and A8 processor.
The news come from the popular Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities who’s a quite decent record when it comes to Apple news. As per the analyst, he believes iPad deliveries will decline this year because iPad Air is the simply tablet that will get a renew his year. He believes the chances of iPad Mini getting a refresh are quite slim this year. He says Apple has set its goals to finish the operating system for iWatch first, which will release later this season.
Regarding the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple needs a operating system that go well with the massive tablet, and as a result of the iWatch being on top rated of the goal list, Apple is unlikely to finish it’s development on the iPad Pro this season. ”Even if it (a larger iPad) does make an appearance this season, deliveries will be low,” he wrote.
As far as the iPad deliveries are concerned, he says it will fall from 34 million models in the first half of 2013 to below 30 million in the very first half of 2014.
