Apple has been already 2 generations in on their iPad Mini presenting and the next one could see a launch before the holidays. Last season, the 2nd generation iPad Mini was launched in October, so the trend may carry over and the 3rd generation iPad Mini might see an October launch. KGI Securities expert Ming Chi Kuo, however, feels that the iPad Mini 3 would see a launch a month earlier, possibly with the iPhone 6 launch.
There are rumors that the iPad Mini 3 won’t be called so when it’s launched much like the same way the iPad Mini 2 was not called so, instead being called the iPad Mini with Retina Display. Among the speculations is that the new iPad Mini would be called the iPad Mini Air, right after the naming convention that Apple has been doing with its other products like the iPad and the Macbook. It’s however, highly unlikely. The new iPad Mini is thought to support the new TouchID fingerprint recognition feature that will be put into the iPhone 6 and is already offered with the iPhone 5S. Since the iPhone 6 will be getting the new A8 processor chip and the most recent iOS 8, it will be likely that the iPad Mini 3 will also get these when it is launched.
It’s unfamiliar if Apple will improve the display size and resolution of the iPad Mini 3 or retain the 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 resolution screen of the iPad Mini 2. It will be highly likely that Apple would decide for a bigger display in order to attract clients to update. The iPad Mini 3 is also likely to come in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, much like the iPad Mini 2.
