Apple is reportedly presently focused on budget iPhone. The budget iPhone Apple is apparently in the process of making will come with fewer features than people originally expected.
A currently published note to investors by RBC Capital Markets’ Amit Daryanani claims Apple is likely to launch “multiple new phones” between June and July of this year.
The 1st being the most evident, the iPhone 5S, while the budget iPhone will be an additional launch which will feature a “plastic casing and no Retina display.” Daryanani also says “with a lower price points, Apple will be able to target a growing and important part of the smartphone market (sub-$400 price band).”
Thinking about how long the cheap iPhone has been saying for, we’d be amazed if Apple doesn’t declare any kind of iPhone device that’s geared towards growing markets. Although, thinking about how good earlier iPhone designs will still hold up in those markets, we could also see why Apple may not desire to offer a fresh cheap iPhone.
