Just few days after the official launch of an application for BlackBerry and the acquisition of Tweetie (which will become the Twitter for Apple iPhone), Now Twitter is outwith another mobile application (official), this time for Google Android. This application is available right away in the Android Market. Twitter Rechis Leland described in the company’s official blog, writing, “Reading tweets is easy in a lot of places on the phone. Quick access to the timeline with the widget display, see a tweet locality on the map and see the latest tweet of your friend in your phonebook, list of GoogleTalk, or any application that uses Android QuickContact bars.”
A Twitter move to Android was much expected, but marks the latest twist in the gap among Twitter and third-party developers. In an interview earlier this month, Seesmic CEO Loic Le Meur, whose company makes one of the most popular Twitter applications for Android, discharged the risk of competition forced by Twitter. Now, let’s see how his company and other fees as they go head to head with another titan of the microblogging platform.
