Zardari stops release of Benazir Bhutto murder report

President Zardari has stopped interior minister Abdul Rehman Malik from making public a report on the investigation into the murder of ex- PM Benazir Bhutto, as per a press report yesterday.

Zardari barred interior minister from showing the report at a meeting of the central executive committee of the ruling PPP that’s held on Benazir’s 5th death anniversary on Thursday.

The president given instructions to interior minister not to make the report public just hours before the PPP held a rally outside the Bhutto family mausoleum at Garhi Khuda Baksh on Thursday.

Interior minister had earlier informed the media about his plan to make the report public. He’d even indicated that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should launch his political career by exposing the report.

Bhutto was killed by a suicide bomber after addressing an election rally in Rawalpindi on  Dec . 27, 2007.
