Yousuf Raza Gilani gets bail in TDAP corruption cases

An anti-corruption court in Karachi granted bail to ex- PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in 12 cases of Rs. 270 million embezzlement during his time in power.


On May 29, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants forYousuf Raza Gilani and senior PPP leader, Makhdoom Amin Faheem, in corruption scandal relating to irregularities in the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The court issued warrants in the light of FIA investigation which reportedly found proof of PPP leader’s contribution in financial irregularities of Rs. 270 million.

The former PM, who is also PPP’s vice-chairman, arrived in the court accompanied by his attorney Farooq H.Naik, local party leaders and a large number of workers.

During the course of hearing, Yousuf Raza Gilani said in the court that allegations levelled against him were concocted and wrong.
