Trason case: Pervez Musharraf to be indicted on Friday

The special court bench hearing Pervez Musharraf’s treason case excused the retired General from appearing before the bench on today according to its previous directives. The retired General has now been ordered to appear before the bench on Friday to face allegations.

During procedures today the lawyer for Pervez Musharraf, Ahmed Raza Kasuri argued before the bench that if his client comes to court according to directives and something happens to him, the court will be accountable. After reviewing the threat alert by the interior ministry showing the chance of an attack similar to the one the murdered ex- Punjab Governor Salman Taseer the head of the bench Justice Faisal Arab said that in light of current security threats to Pervez Musharraf’s life the bench can’t order for him to be produced today.

The bench has ordered Pervez Musharraf to be produced on Friday. Moreover the bench has directed for security plans to be made in light of the threats pointed out by the interior ministry in its threat-alert.
