Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday announced that the party’s successful membership drive recently has now crossed over Ten million people. A senior Tehreek-e-Insaf leader who wanted not to be named told that the party has now over Ten million registered members and they’re optimistic of winning in the forthcoming general elections.
Comparing the party’s strong vote bank with the other 2 main political groups – PPP and PML-N – he claimed that the PPP, arguably Pakistan’s biggest political party, didn’t have a total vote bank of Ten million folks in 2008. PML-N, he added, could only boast of Seven million voters in the last general elections.
PTI had wrapped up its membership drive in KP and Punjab a few months ago, while they’re trying to gather as many followers as possible from Sindh and Balochistan. The party had extended its membership drive in the 2 provinces till July 31.
