Ending weeks-long debate, the Sindh govt on yesterday permitted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold its public rally in Karachi on Dec . 25. A PTI delegation, called on the Sindh home minister to fix the matter. Manzoor Wassan rejected their request, but later given a statement grating approval to the PTI to hold a rally at the place opposite to the Quaid’s mausoleum.
In the statement, Manzoor Wassan says the PTI had been permitted to conduct its public meeting at the place (venue) it had required. He says the PTI was free to arrange a public meeting anywhere, anytime, and at anywhere in Karachi. “They can carry out the rally in Nishter Park or Tibet Centre, or any place in Karachi. But, the scenario of the city isn’t really ideal. The day is also not suitable as the folks in massive numbers would be going to the Quaid’s mausoleum.
PTI leader Naeemul Haq proved that the govt had given the approval for the gathering at the place close to the Quaid’s mausoleum that had been asked for by his party. “We briefed Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan that the place decided by the PTI for its public meeting wasn’t inside the mausoleum.”
