Supreme Court summons Imran Khan over contempt of court

PTI chief Imran Khan has been issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court and summoned on August 2. The notice was taken on a note written by the Supreme Court Registrar under article 204 read with section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003.

Imran Khan has been charged with scandalizing the judiciary and spreading hatred against judges during a media conference on 26 July. Imran Khan had been critical of the said media conference of the decision to change the presidential election timetable and rigging during the May 11 elections.

The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to Attorney General Munir A Malik to appear on August 2.
