PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday mentioned that PM Gilani couldn’t be labelled as a convicted person until a decision on his appeal. Talking with media representatives in Lahore, he said the Supreme Court’s judgment didn’t disqualify the prime minister.
Shujaat Hussain moreover said that it didn’t matter whether Nawaz Sharif, chief of the PML-N, accepted PM Gilani as the country’s prime minister. The PML-Q leader said that “the Sharif brothers have themselves committed contempt of court”. On the issue of the general elections, Shujaat Hussain said the polls would take place on time and once the govt completed its mandated period.
Responding to a query as to whether he’d stand by a convicted PM, Shujaat Hussain said he’d respond to the matter once the detailed judgment is out.
